We would like to congratulate Newport Recycling’s Gaynor Williams who has recently qualified as a retained firefighter!
In addition to her role as a commercial assistant at Newport Recycling, Gaynor will now be supporting the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service as a retained firefighter. She will be attending callouts from Newport Fire Station and is supported by Newport Recycling and Wellington Fire station.
Gaynor started her fire training at Telford Central Fire Station in March 2020 and qualified in September. Training consisted of pumps and ladders, water safety, working from heights, trauma, RTC’s and Breathing Apparatus. She is now fully equipped to respond to a range of incidents.
Personal development has always been actively encouraged at Newport Recycling and we strongly believe in investing in the development of all of our team members. We hope that no one will ever be in the situations that require the help of the fire services, however for those that do, we cannot think of anyone else we would rather have offering a helping hand.
Well done and keep up the great work.
