What do the World Wide Web, Jurassic Park, Beanie Babies and Newport Recycling all have in common?

They all turn 30 this year!

Newport Recycling celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Serving the recycling industry since 1993, the company has been at the forefront of sustainability efforts, providing top-notch services to both local authorities and commercial clients. Here’s to many more years of keeping our planet green!

On Newport Recycing’s 30th Birthday, our Managing Director, Matthew Hoare reflects on our journey so far.

As the Managing Director of Newport Recycling, it’s with a great sense of pride and appreciation that we celebrate our 30th anniversary. The journey that brought us here has been marked by resilience, hard work, and unwavering commitment to quality service; values that were instilled in me by my father and the founder of Newport Recycling, Ashley Hoare.

Newport Recycling began as Newport Paper in 1993. Originally we were a small operation trading office grade papers and OCC from the old barns behind our family home in Shropshire, but with our passion for quality service and long-term relationships, we successfully grew Newport Paper.  With more team members joining and newly acquired contracts adding to the workload, our company soon outgrew those old barns.

I joined Newport Paper in 2003, and over time I migrated to the role of Managing Director, allowing Ashley to wind down his involvement in the company.

The Newport team’s hard work and dedication have paid off, and we now offer collection services across the whole of Great Britain and Ireland. Our long-term relationship with Stora Enso Langerbrugge Mill is still flourishing after 20 years and is a testament to our approach to business and our team’s dedication. Our success has enabled us to diversify and in 2019 we became Newport Recycling, offering a complete recycling brokerage service for all recyclable materials, that meets the needs of hundreds of different customers each year.

We’ve always maintained an open and collaborative culture, learning from our customers and creating prosperous partnerships. Thanks to this approach, we’ve been able to forge valuable relationships with our international partners in the Far East and Europe.

In closing, I’d like to express my gratitude to our team, our customers, and our partners who have supported us over the years. Your trust and loyalty have been invaluable, and we look forward to continuing to serve you for many years to come.

Matthew Hoare,

Managing Director
