Everyone at Newport Recycling would like to congratulate Jen on completing the Manchester Marathon after months of hard work, dedication and training.
Despite understandably feeling nervous in the lead-up to the event, Jen took on the challenge with determination and completed the marathon in an impressive time of 5 hours and 34 minutes — an achievement she is incredibly proud of.
Throughout the course, Jen embraced the atmosphere and support from the crowds, with one of her favourite moments being spotting the famous Mario “Toad” sign and giving it a press for an extra boost along the way.
Behind the scenes, Jen also had plenty of support from the Newport team. Her colleagues at Newport kept in touch throughout the day via a group chat, cheering her on from start to finish and helping keep spirits high during the tougher stages of the race.
Around mile 18, which Jen found particularly challenging, the team rallied together with messages of encouragement and support to help motivate her through the final stretch.
To make the achievement even more meaningful, Jen raised an incredible £1,769 for Dementia UK, supporting the charity’s important work helping families affected by dementia.
Even more impressively, Jen is already looking ahead to next year and has applied to run the marathon again with the goal of beating this year’s time.
Everyone at Newport Recycling is incredibly proud of Jen’s achievement, commitment and fundraising efforts for such a worthwhile cause.
